Embrace the Fine Arts!
Have you a song in your heart or is acting in your future? Or do you just want to be entertained? Are you ready to pick up a paint brush or work a piece of clay? Or do you just want to enjoy the work of talented, local artists? From choral, to theatre, to visual arts Georgetown TX embraces the fine arts.
Choral enthusiasts will want to check out the San Gabriel Chorale, a growing organization of volunteer singers of all walks of life and varying musical ability. Some have sung for many years and in many organizations across the country, while others are exploring choral music for the first time. For over twenty years, the San Gabriel Chorale has presented large-scale choral works with orchestra for the enjoyment of our audiences both near and far. In recent years, members of the San Gabriel Choral have participated in tours to Carnegie Hall, Central Europe, and China.
For those interested in appearing on stage, you will want to check out the Palace Theatre. Located just south of the historic Courthouse Square in the only building in Georgetown of the Art Deco period, the Palace offers live theater year-round. For those interested in supporting this outstanding community theater, you will want to check out the Palace Theater Guild.
Visual artists and artisans will want to check out the Williamson County Art Guild (WCAG) which has been promoting art education and art events for over a quarter century. The WCAG offers workshops and seminars, and provides an opportunity for artists and artisans to publicly display their artwork. WCAG currently operates The Framers Gallery at 610 S Main Street, just north of the Courthouse Square. You will see the work of WCAG Artists on windows and walls downtown.
